Law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan have carried out a series of intensive security operations in Tashkent and the Fergana region, resulting in the arrest of three individuals suspected of large-scale drug trafficking. Authorities confiscated over five kilograms of illicit substances during these coordinated raids. The incidents highlight the ongoing challenges authorities face in curbing narcotics distribution and the rising reliance on underground online marketplaces for illegal transactions.

In the capital's Yunusabad district, operatives from the State Security Service, in cooperation with the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs, detained a 33-year-old male for inspection. Authorities allegedly discovered three containers holding 257 grams of hashish oil in his possession. A subsequent search of his residence reportedly uncovered an additional 2.831 kilograms of the same substance, along with electronic scales. Investigators claim the suspect was actively tied to an online illicit drug distribution network.

Meanwhile, two separate cases were uncovered in the Fergana region. In the Fergana district, a 38-year-old local resident was reportedly apprehended while attempting to sell 982 grams of hashish to an undercover operative for $10,700. The narcotics were purportedly smuggled into the country from a neighboring state. In another episode, a 29-year-old resident of Fergana was intercepted while transporting 956 grams of hashish he had just retrieved from a hidden stash. Security officials claim these drugs were likewise brought in and cached by transnational couriers.

Criminal cases have been initiated regarding all three incidents, and investigations are reportedly underway. This follows a previous high-profile bust in the Andijan region, where two men attempted to resist arrest and flee after trying to sell nearly two kilograms of hashish for $18,000, further demonstrating the persistent volatility of the regional security landscape.
