On October 28, a minor snowfall was observed in the high-altitude Maydanak area, located within the Qamashi district of the Qashqadaryo region. Situated at an elevation of 2,750 meters above sea level, the remote area experienced a sudden shift in weather conditions that caught local observers by surprise as autumn progresses.
According to reports, the precipitation commenced at approximately 17:10 local time. However, meteorological specialists noted that precise temperature measurements were not conducted directly at the exact spot where the snow fell, leaving certain gaps in the local climate data for this high-altitude zone.
Furthermore, data from the Mingchuqur meteorological station—the closest monitoring post to Maydanak—indicated an air temperature of +5 degrees Celsius. While official sources characterized the snowfall as extremely weak, no additional details were provided regarding its exact duration, whether it formed any noticeable snow cover on the ground, or what its thickness might have been.
