Two prominent academic lyceums in Tashkent are set to establish specialized classes aimed at preparing students for future careers in the nuclear energy sector. This educational initiative is being implemented by the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

According to reports from the Uzatom agency, the project involves the I. M. Gubkin Academic Lyceum at the Russian State University of Oil and Gas and the International House-Tashkent lyceum under the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers. Formal cooperation memorandums have already been signed between the institutions.

The curriculum is designed to provide an advanced study of physics, mathematics, and computer science, alongside a foundational introduction to nuclear power generation technologies. Students will reportedly have access to specialized lectures and seminars conducted by industry professionals, opportunities to participate in academic olympiads, and career guidance events intended to facilitate admission to MEPhI's Tashkent branch.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the exact launch timeline for these specialized classes or the specific number of students who will be admitted to the program. Previously, it was announced that Sirozh Bekchanov had been appointed as the director of the Directorate for the Construction of the Nuclear Workers' Town under the Uzatom agency.
