Law enforcement authorities in the capital have taken decisive action following a widespread public outcry and mounting complaints regarding residential construction projects associated with the Imarat Development brand. According to the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs, entrepreneur Marat Khamdamov has been detained as part of an active criminal investigation.

Department officials reported that two individuals, identified as M.X. and another person with the initials J.A., were apprehended in accordance with procedural guidelines. Khamdamov has officially been brought into the case as a suspect, though investigators have yet to clarify whether formal charges have been filed or what preventive measures will ultimately be chosen by the court.

The criminal proceedings were initially launched by the Tashkent police investigative department under charges of fraud and abuse of authority within a commercial organization. This legal action was prompted by numerous grievances from housing buyers who expressed intense dissatisfaction with the company's management and demanded lawful intervention.

Investigations revealed that while the Imarat Development office was situated in Tashkent's Sergeli district, the actual multi-story residential complexes were being erected further away in the Tashkent region's Kuyichirchik district. Many buyers argued they specifically intended to purchase property within the capital city and subsequently demanded contract cancellations and refunds, which authorities claim were never issued.
