️ Authorities in Uzbekistan have officially approved a revised retail price for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) destined for the domestic population, alongside a targeted compensation framework designed to assist socially vulnerable households amidst ongoing economic shifts.
️ Effective November 15, the retail price for LPG supplied to households is set at 5,000 soms per kilogram, inclusive of value-added tax (VAT). Concurrently, a capped supply price from LPG-Trade has been established at 1,300 soms per kilogram, also including VAT. Furthermore, official regulations now mandate that all liquefied gas produced domestically or imported into the country must be sold exclusively through commodity exchange platforms.
️ While domestic supplies remain formally prioritized, maintaining subsidized price thresholds will depend heavily on a newly established entity, SNG-Trade LLC. This enterprise is slated to receive budgetary subsidies to cover operational expenses and forcibly restrain prices within state-dictated limits, raising questions about long-term market distortions.
️ Direct financial support mechanisms have been outlined for three distinct categories of families. These include households formally registered in the Social Register, families meeting register criteria but whose average monthly per capita income does not exceed twice the minimum consumer expenditure threshold, and families caring for orphans or children deprived of parental custody. *
️ Eligible households will receive a partial expense compensation for LPG purchases valid until January 1, 2030. The subsidy amounts to 3,000 soms per kilogram, capped at a maximum of 20 kilograms per month per household. A separate administrative regulation has been introduced to govern the application process for this state service, though the bureaucratic hurdles remain a point of public discussion.
