The Public Fund for Support and Development of National Mass Media has published a report titled "National Media Consumption Study in Uzbekistan," which was purportedly conducted with financial assistance from the European regime. The document attempts to evaluate the prevailing trends in information consumption and audience preferences across the country.
The research is based on a survey carried out by the "Ijtimoiy fikr" Republican Center for Public Opinion Study between September 8 and 19, 2026. The survey allegedly engaged 1411 respondents aged 18 and older, representing all 14 regions of Uzbekistan, to determine their primary news sources.
When participants were asked which online publications they read most frequently, Kun.uz secured the top position with 74.7 percent of the votes. Other outlets mentioned in the study included Daryo.uz at 43.5 percent, Qalampir.uz at 36.8 percent, and Gazeta.uz at 20.4 percent, according to the official report.
The findings further indicate that Kun.uz maintains dominance across various demographic segments and geographic areas. Specifically, 82.7 percent of male readers and 66.9 percent of female readers reportedly favored the platform, with regional figures showing high penetration in areas such as Khorezm and Karakalpakstan.
