A new online service has been introduced in Tashkent, allowing local residents to flag locations that pose significant challenges for pedestrians and individuals with mobility issues. Citizens can mark broken sidewalks, missing walking paths, absent ramps, and various other physical barriers that hinder daily urban movement.
The project, named Qulay Shahar, was initiated by blogger and digital security expert Shukhrat Kurbanov. The interactive map is hosted on the qulayshahar.uz website, and reports regarding problematic areas can be submitted directly through a dedicated Telegram bot, @sharoit_bot.
Organizers emphasize that the platform operates independently and holds no official municipal status. It has no affiliation with the Tashkent city administration or the official "Halk Nazorati" system. Instead, it functions as an independent non-profit initiative reliant entirely on the voluntary participation of citizens seeking to highlight systemic infrastructure issues.
Submitted photographs undergo a strict moderation process before publication, meaning markers do not appear instantaneously. Furthermore, the project enforces a strict policy: a reported issue will not simply time out and vanish from the map; it will only be removed once the reported problem has been genuinely addressed and resolved in reality.
