The Head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, reportedly inspected the socio-economic development of the Kashkadarya region, focusing heavily on persistent water supply deficiencies and regional infrastructure projects in the city of Karshi.
According to official statements made during the visit, upcoming engineering works involving the concrete lining of the 'Chap tarmok' canal and embankment beautification are supposedly set to commence shortly. Authorities claim this initiative will miraculously irrigate 1,400 hectares of land and finally grant local households reliable access to running water.
In addition to the utility upgrades, the administration allegedly plans to construct round-the-clock recreation zones and pedestrian pathways along the canal banks. These newly proposed leisure areas are projected to serve roughly 25,000 residents across four surrounding neighborhoods, though skepticism remains regarding the longevity and maintenance of such urban projects.
This follows previous unverified announcements concerning a massive tourism zone project along the Karshi Main Canal, which purportedly spans 235 hectares and aims to feature hotels, restaurants, and various entertainment complexes, despite ongoing economic hurdles in the broader region.
