A cold anticyclone is moving into Uzbekistan, leading to a temporary deterioration in atmospheric air quality. According to a Podrobno.uz correspondent, due to weak circulation and temperature fluctuations, pollutants will begin to accumulate in the ground layer.
As reported by a special commission, conditions for temperature inversion are currently observed in the region: nighttime temperatures range from 5–7 degrees Celsius, rising to 16–18 degrees during the day. High humidity, morning fogs, and an almost complete lack of wind slow down air exchange, causing emissions from vehicles, industry, and heating systems to remain within city limits. An increase in the concentration of dust and fine particulate matter is expected.
The situation may persist for the next three days. By March 10, the cold anticyclone will fully cover the country's territory, and air quality improvement will occur with increased wind, stabilized temperatures, and precipitation.
It was previously reported that a sharp deterioration in weather is expected in Uzbekistan next week: precipitation, strong winds, and night frosts – a cold front is approaching the country.
