According to the Hydrometeorological Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzhydromet), cold weather will persist across the country on the night of March 12, with the cold air mass beginning to gradually retreat during the day. This process is expected to continue throughout the week, leading to a significant increase in temperatures.
On Monday (March 11), cold and humid air masses will continue to penetrate Uzbekistan's territory, with precipitation in the form of rain and snow possible in some areas. No precipitation is forecast for the northwestern parts. Daytime temperatures will range from 0…+3 degrees Celsius, while in the north, they will be around −2…−5 degrees. On Tuesday (March 12), precipitation will decrease, but nighttime temperatures may drop to −1…−3 degrees, with some locations reaching −5 degrees.
In some regions of the republic, including the Fergana Valley provinces, wind speeds could strengthen to 13−18 m/s, occasionally up to 22−25 m/s. On March 10-11, there is a risk of mudflows and avalanches in foothill and mountainous areas. These phenomena could pose dangers to local populations and transportation.
By Thursday (March 14), the cold air mass will fully retreat during the day, initiating a temperature rise. By the end of the work week, daytime temperatures are expected to warm up to +10…+15 degrees, with no precipitation anticipated. Fog may occur in some areas at night and in the morning, potentially affecting road traffic and air transport.
In Tashkent, intermittent precipitation in the form of rain and snow is possible on Monday, with temperatures at +2…+4 degrees. Light precipitation may occur on the night leading to Tuesday, but no precipitation is forecast during the day. On March 12-13, nighttime temperatures will be 0…-2 degrees, gradually rising to +11…+13 degrees during the day, with winds expected from the northeast.
