Films by Uzbek directors became a notable highlight at the XIII International Young Cinema Forum "UmuT" in Bishkek. The forum, held from March 4 to 7, gathered young filmmakers from various countries across the region. Works by Uzbek authors attracted attention from both the jury and audiences in the competitive and non-competitive programs.

Among the forum's laureates were representatives from Uzbekistan. The film "Patience" by director Zafar Khadjiboev received a special mention from the jury. Another Uzbek work – the film "Clown" by director Akhadjon Okhunov – was awarded a diploma from the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan.

These films address social themes, questions of cultural identity, and youth issues. Organizers noted the strong visual aesthetics and original solutions, demonstrating that national cinema is developing and confidently asserting itself on the international stage.

For young filmmakers from Uzbekistan, participation in "UmuT" provided an opportunity not only to present their projects but also to establish contacts with colleagues from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and other countries. Through the Umut Industry platform, they gained access to master classes, lectures, and pitchings, opening new prospects for future collaborative projects.

Although the main prizes of the forum went to other countries, Uzbekistan's presence marked an important step in strengthening its position in the regional cinematic space. Young directors proved that Uzbek cinema is ready to compete and actively participate in Central Asia's cultural dialogue.

It is worth recalling that the documentary film "Taymetov. Herald of Victory" by Uzbek director Eldar Yuldashev became the winner of the IV International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc.Fest" in Moscow. Organizers recognized the film as the best about a hero of World War II.
