In Tashkent, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a discussion was held on the draft presidential decree to create a unified state control system in the field of food safety in Uzbekistan. The meeting involved members of the Public Council for Entrepreneurship Support under the President and representatives of expert groups.

The essence of the initiative is to consolidate all types of control related to food safety into a single structure. This includes phytosanitary and quarantine supervision, sanitary-epidemiological and hygienic control, as well as veterinary services. It is planned that all these functions will be performed by a unified committee.

As noted during the meeting, this is supposed to simplify life for entrepreneurs. Currently, producers and suppliers have to undergo inspections in various agencies. After the reform, they will be able to obtain necessary permits through one body.

At the same time, the new system is intended to strengthen control over the quality of products on the market. It is expected that this will help more effectively protect consumers from substandard and hazardous products.

Proposals and comments voiced at the meeting will be summarized and taken into account when finalizing the draft decree.

It is recalled that a new deputy chairman has been appointed in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
