Portugal will conclude their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a friendly against Nigeria on Wednesday, June 9, at the Estadio Dr Magalhaes Pessoa in Leiria. The match kicks off at 20:45 local time (19:45 GMT).

Roberto Martinez's side, considered one of the tournament favorites, boasts a star-studded lineup including Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, and Bernardo Silva. Portugal secured a 2-1 victory over Chile in their previous friendly, albeit with Rafael Leao sent off for punching an opponent.

Nigeria failed to qualify for the World Cup after a turbulent campaign marked by managerial changes and player disputes over unpaid bonuses. However, the Super Eagles are unbeaten in their last six matches and will provide a stern test. Key players Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman have been rested.

Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, played the first half against Chile and is expected to feature against Nigeria as he gears up for what is likely his final World Cup. He has scored 143 goals in 227 appearances for Portugal and won Euro 2016.

Portugal's World Cup campaign begins on June 16 against DR Congo in Houston, followed by matches against Uzbekistan on June 23 and Colombia on June 27. The team is based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
