The plant, Europe's largest, is now relying on backup diesel generators to cool its six shut-down reactors.

️ Ukrainian drones struck a major oil refinery in the southern Russian city of Krasnodar overnight, sparking a fire that was later extinguished. Local officials reported no casualties, but three people were injured by falling drone debris.

️ German Chancellor Friedrich Merz told the Bundestag that his government will continue supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russia. Merz stated that the goal is a "just and lasting peace" and that Germany is strengthening NATO's eastern flank.

️ Merz also criticized the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party for its alleged support of Russia, accusing them of laughing at the fate of millions and traveling to Moscow for "champagne receptions."

️ IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi highlighted the "extreme fragility of the electrical grid and constant dangers to nuclear safety" during the war. This marks the 19th time the plant has been cut off since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
