India held a retest of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) on June 21, after the original exam on May 3 was canceled due to question paper leaks. The exam is crucial for admission to medical colleges across the country.

According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), over 2 million students appeared for the retest, compared to 2,279,743 registered for the original exam. NTA Director General Abhishek Singh attributed the lower turnout to students who had already secured admission in other courses.

The exam was conducted at 5,440 centers in India and 14 abroad under tight security. The leak scandal has sparked widespread protests, with the newly formed "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP) demanding the resignation of the education minister. Protests continue at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer is visiting India to meet with Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and other officials to advance the US-India trade deal. The agreement, reached between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump in February, is reportedly near finalization.
