President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, heading a representative delegation, arrived in Georgia on a state visit. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze hosted an official dinner in honor of the Uzbek leader.

According to the prime minister's press service, the head of government emphasized the historic significance of the first-ever visit by a Uzbek president at the highest state level for further development of bilateral relations.

The presidential press service reported that during the cultural program, the head of state and Prime Minister Kobakhidze rode a funicular to Mount Mtatsminda, offering a panoramic view of Tbilisi. The leaders took a commemorative photo together.

Additionally, as a sign of deep respect for the distinguished guest and the entire Uzbek people, the Tbilisi TV tower was illuminated in the colors of the national flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
