Paraguayan President Santiago Peña received Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov. The meeting took place during the minister's visit to Asunción.

According to UzA on February 27, the negotiations addressed issues of phased market access liberalization and expanding bilateral trade potential.

The meeting was noted as a logical continuation of agreements reached in December 2025 between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Paraguayan president to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and food security.

Additionally, the parties discussed attracting modern technologies and investments in mineral exploration and extraction, as well as implementing joint projects in this area.
