Israeli forces have killed at least eight Palestinians in a series of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza's civil defense. Among the dead were a man and a woman killed in a helicopter strike on an apartment south of Deir el-Balah, with additional casualties reported in Khan Younis and Gaza City's Old City.

The strikes on Sunday came just two days after the Trump administration's Board of Peace published a 15-point roadmap for implementing last year's ceasefire agreement, highlighting the continued violence despite diplomatic efforts. The roadmap has yet to be implemented on the ground, with Hamas insisting it will only hand over weapons for storage after Israel halts military operations and withdraws forces as per the agreement.

An Israeli official told Reuters that there would be no withdrawal from current positions unless Hamas undergoes "genuine disarmament," signaling a deadlock. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not publicly commented on the initiative, but far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has rejected it, calling for continued strikes on Hamas leaders.

Former senior Fatah official Mohammed Dahlan, based in the UAE, said Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser on the initiative, told him he was working with Israel to halt attacks on Gaza. Dahlan noted that talks with Washington were ongoing, but the agreement's success now hinges on Israel fully ending its daily strikes.

Separately, Israeli strikes destroyed a medical supply warehouse in central Gaza on Saturday, leaving a crater 20 meters wide and 10 meters deep. The attacks are part of a broader wave of violence that has persisted despite international calls for a ceasefire, raising questions about the viability of the US-led peace plan.
