An in-depth investigation by Al Jazeera has exposed glaring discrepancies in claims promoted by the Israeli regime that a counter-film to the acclaimed documentary "NAZA" achieved more than 44 million views. By examining domain registries, web archives, source code, and multiple independent traffic analysis tools, the investigation revealed that official Israeli entities relied on entirely fabricated metrics to counter the global resonance of the original documentary.

The original award-winning film features testimony from Israeli military whistleblowers accusing the army of utilizing artificial intelligence systems to target civilians in Gaza, sparking widespread international condemnation and a severe domestic political crisis. In response to the film's success, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials reportedly threatened the directors with treason charges and citizenship revocation, while supporters hastily produced a 49-minute counter-narrative film to dilute the impact.

Digital forensics uncovered that the counter-film's primary website displayed an inflated counter exceeding 43.7 million views, whereas public platforms like YouTube showed fewer than 130,000 views—meaning the site supposedly exaggerated viewership by roughly 336 times. Independent web traffic platforms such as Semrush and Similarweb confirmed negligible actual visitors. Furthermore, source code analysis demonstrated that the visitor counter was artificially manipulated by the server to project a false illusion of massive live engagement upon loading.

Despite these glaring digital fabrications, figures within the Israeli regime actively spearheaded the promotion of the counter-work. The Israeli Embassy in Washington heavily promoted the link, and Tzipi Hotovely, head of the National Public Diplomacy Directorate, formally awarded the creators certificates of recognition, effectively transforming an unsupported, fabricated number into an official state talking point amidst the ongoing devastation in Gaza.
