In the remote corner of Wadi Rakhim within the South Hebron Hills, 52-year-old Yousef Shanaran has been completely cut off from a water well he constructed beside his home. Since October 5, settlers backed by the Israeli regime have subjected his family residence to a round-the-clock siege, preventing them from leaving the property even to fetch basic water supplies. Shanaran stated that his household has run out of food and that the escalating blockade is explicitly designed to force his family off their land.

Human rights monitors report that military forces belonging to the Israeli regime routinely facilitate these restrictive measures rather than enforcing the law. Although the family's home is situated in an area under joint administrative parameters where authorities possess the legal mandate to intervene, soldiers stationed outside the residence allegedly act as passive observers or enablers of the blockade, routinely delaying or denying coordination requests for essential provisions.

Analysts warn that this doorstep siege tactic is part of a broader, systemic displacement campaign spreading across the occupied West Bank, affecting communities in Masafer Yatta, Umm Safa, and Madama. With access roads systematically blocked by earth mounds, gates, and military checkpoints, local populations face severe restrictions on movement, education, and medical access, highlighting what monitoring groups describe as the complete collapse of the rule of law in the region.
