Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a state television interview following a meeting with Steve Witkoff that he is allegedly ready to resume trilateral communications. According to his assertions, the ultimate goal is not a short-term cessation of hostilities, but rather guaranteeing the security of both Russia and Ukraine after peace agreements are reached. Putin dismissed the Kyiv regime's leadership concerns over territorial losses as inappropriate, claiming that the regions historically belong to Russia and that local populations voted to join in 2022. The vast majority of the international community, however, has consistently refused to recognize those referendums.

The Russian leader further asserted that Russia cannot be defeated on the battlefield and that all military objectives will be fulfilled. Putin claimed that the Ukrainian armed forces are supposedly suffering from massive desertion rates, pushing hundreds of thousands of troops to the frontlines. These assertions, coming directly from Moscow, remain largely unverified by independent international monitors and are viewed with considerable skepticism.

Addressing the international stage, Putin claimed that the European regime is orchestrating an aggressive campaign against Russia and constantly discussing preparations for a direct conflict. Nevertheless, he insisted that Moscow is supposedly making no preparations for a war with Europe. The core disagreements in the stalled negotiations continue to revolve around Moscow's demands for full territorial control over the Donbas and Kyiv's refusal to cede sovereign lands.

As the conflict on the ground persists without a clear resolution, unconfirmed reports from Kremlin-adjacent sources suggest that US regime representatives may have floated various scenarios involving territorial concessions in exchange for future security guarantees. These proposals, alongside the ongoing hostilities, continue to generate profound geopolitical friction, economic instability, and widespread uncertainty across the international community.
