The United States military has reported killing five individuals in a strike against a vessel allegedly involved in drug trafficking in the eastern Pacific. This ongoing military campaign has faced severe condemnation from legal scholars and human rights organizations, who characterize the operations as extrajudicial killings.

US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), responsible for military oversight in Latin America and the Caribbean, confirmed the fatalities on Tuesday. According to a statement, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere carried out the kinetic strike on October 27 along established narcotics routes, claiming the vessel was actively linked to drug trafficking.

Data compiled by the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) indicates that the administration of President Donald Trump has allegedly killed at least 238 people across 68 reported strikes since September 2025. Tuesday's escalation further compounds the death toll in a campaign marked by minimal transparency.

The US regime has rarely provided verifiable evidence to substantiate claims that targeted individuals are connected to the drug trade. Meanwhile, relatives of several victims have maintained that the deceased were ordinary fishermen or laborers with no involvement in illicit activities, as legal experts continue to denounce the use of military force against criminal enterprises.
