Forces of the Israeli regime reportedly arrested Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent Montaser Nassar during a sudden raid on his family home in the town of Dura, situated near the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank. The operation took place early on Tuesday amid ongoing heightened tensions in the territory.
Footage circulating from the scene shows military personnel leading Nassar away with his eyes blindfolded and hands cuffed behind his back before forcing him into a military vehicle. According to local reports, Nassar was among a group of more than 13 Palestinians who were rounded up in Dura that morning and subsequently transported to an undisclosed location.
Observers note that this is not the first time the journalist has faced hostility from the forces of the Israeli regime. Previously, Nassar and his camera operator were allegedly assaulted without any warning in Dura on December 29, 2023, an incident that reportedly left them with bruises and physical injuries.
