The major Dutch construction company MMBS Groep has announced plans to hire up to 6,000 workers and specialists from Uzbekistan in the near future. This was revealed during a meeting between the company's leadership and Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Brussels, Gayrat Fozilov. The meeting, which also included the manager of the Bouwmensen Amsterdam education center, focused on strengthening cooperation in labor migration, simplifying visa procedures, and developing labor migration programs between Uzbekistan and the Netherlands.
The Dutch side specifically acknowledged Uzbekistan as a reliable partner in providing qualified personnel. According to a representative of MMBS Groep, 40 Uzbek specialists are currently employed by the company with an average salary of around 2,500 euros. The company aims to significantly increase this number, planning to hire approximately 6,000 more people from Uzbekistan in the future.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to open the first training center for construction in Urgench, with plans to later establish centers for training specialists in plumbing, electrical work, and other fields. These initiatives are designed to facilitate the adaptation of Uzbek workers to the Dutch labor market.
During the meeting, diplomats also closely examined the working and living conditions of Uzbeks employed at MMBS Groep. Previously, in cooperation with the Qatari company Jusour, a vacancy database was opened for Uzbek citizens, further enhancing the country's integration into foreign labor markets.
