Iran's Prosecutor General has announced the confiscation of all assets belonging to citizens who support the actions of the United States and Israel against Iran. In an official statement, this measure was described as a warning to Iranians abroad "expressing solidarity, support, or cooperating with the American-Zionist (Israeli) enemy in various ways".
The authorities emphasized that they will not limit themselves to confiscation alone but will also take "other legal measures in accordance with the law" against disloyal citizens. This could include additional penalties and restrictions, seen as part of broader efforts to suppress political opposition and overseas activism amid increasing domestic pressure within Iran.
According to Reuters, up to five million Iranians live outside the country, mostly in the United States and Western European nations. Many prominent figures have used social media to criticize the Iranian leadership and express support for US-Israeli military operations. Following recent protest actions, the Iranian diaspora abroad has regularly staged street demonstrations in US and European cities to back protesters inside Iran.
This decision by the Iranian government is framed as part of its struggle against internal and external opposition, reflecting a heightened political situation against a backdrop of geopolitical isolation and economic challenges.
