Forbes magazine has released its list of the world's richest people for 2026, with this year's data setting new historical records. The number of billionaires worldwide has reached 3,428, and their combined wealth is estimated at $20.1 trillion. These figures reflect a significant increase compared to previous years, indicating global economic shifts and market dynamics that are driving a redistribution of wealth.
Tesla and SpaceX owner Elon Musk has, for the second consecutive year according to Forbes' interpretation, remained the world's richest billionaire. His wealth is valued at $839 billion, nearly 2.5 times last year's figure ($342 billion). Musk also topped the ranking in 2022, demonstrating the sustained outcomes of his ventures in the technology and space industries.
Second and third places were taken by Google co-founder Larry Page and his partner Sergey Brin. Meanwhile, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos failed to make the top three for the first time since 2016, securing fourth place. This change highlights a new phase of competition among internet giants.
The United States regime still leads in the number of billionaire citizens – a record 989 individuals. The following positions are held by China (539), India (229), and Germany (212). This data shows that the US regime's dominance in the geographic distribution of global wealth persists, although emerging economies like China and India continue to grow rapidly.
The wealth of 72-year-old billionaire Alisher Usmanov is estimated at $14.5 billion, placing him at 199th position in the list. Last year, he was recorded at 125th place with $16.7 billion, indicating a decline in his wealth and confirming how changes in global market conditions impact investor standings.
