In Altai Krai, Russia, rescue services saved five Uzbek citizens who were stranded on a snow-covered road during severe frost. The incident occurred on the night of February 25 on the A-321 federal highway in the Rebrikhinsky District. The broken-down Chevrolet vehicle was carrying five people traveling from Biysk to Uzbekistan.
Personnel from the 81st Fire and Rescue Unit arrived to assist. The freezing Uzbek citizens were evacuated to a warming center in the village of Rebricha.
"The rescued individuals are now safe and did not require medical attention. Relatives have set out from Novosibirsk to pick them up and repair the vehicle," said Alexey Saenko, deputy head of the 18th detachment.
Previously, three Uzbek citizens were among passengers stranded on the Astana-Petropavlovsk highway in Kazakhstan due to a bus malfunction. Kazakhstan's Emergency Situations Ministry staff promptly transported them to a warming center.
