Khayrullo Ibadullayev, a cleaner from St. Petersburg who rescued a child falling from the seventh floor, has announced plans to return to his home country of Uzbekistan. There, he is awaited by his four children and ill father, and he dreams of completing a house for his family.
Residents of the building collected 180,000 rubles for him in gratitude, and an anonymous blogger provided additional funds. Ibadullayev intends to use this money to support his relatives.
During the rescue, he suffered a broken arm and chest bruising, but no internal injuries were detected. Recovery will take at least a month, so he is temporarily unable to work.
The Agency for External Labor Migration under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan provided him with an air ticket for his return. Previously, the Russian State Duma proposed granting him Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure.
St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov awarded Ibadullayev the "For Valor in Rescue" distinction. He also received the Tigran Keosayan Prize of one million rubles and the "Jasorat" medal from the President of Uzbekistan.
