On February 17 at 08:20, a report came in that a person was drowning in the "Dustlik" canal flowing through the center of Nukus city. The incident was noticed by a passerby walking along the canal, who alerted the rescue service.
Diver-rescuers from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Emergency Situations quickly arrived at the scene and pulled the victim from the water. She was given immediate first aid, which helped save her life.
Afterwards, the rescued woman was handed over to an ambulance team.
