An explosion occurred in a residential building in the Payariq district of Samarkand region. Five members of one family—a couple and their three children—were injured. Later, one of the victims died in the hospital.

According to the publication Kun.uz, the incident happened around midnight on January 30 in the Turkibola neighborhood. Family members were diagnosed with injuries and burns.

Burns were sustained by S.N. (born 1987), V.F. (born 1994), their 12-year-old daughter, and sons aged 9 and 1. All victims were hospitalized.

Despite doctors' efforts, S.N. died from burns and injuries caused by the explosion and flying glass shards.

A working group has been established to determine the cause of the incident. Specialists will check whether the installation of gas equipment met technical requirements. Employees of the district gas supply company "Payariqtumangaz" have been involved in the work.

Previously, in the Ishtikhon district of Samarkand region, five people were hospitalized after a gas cylinder explosion in a residential building.
