Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on February 26. The head of state warmly congratulated the Turkish leader on his birthday, wishing him good health, well-being, and success in state activities, and peace and prosperity to the brotherly Turkish people.
During the conversation, the presidents warmly congratulated each other on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan for the entire Muslim ummah. The leaders of the two countries discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Turkish relations, which are now at the level of comprehensive strategic partnership. It was noted with satisfaction that the results of the recent meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council have elevated interstate cooperation to a qualitatively new stage.
The sides paid special attention to the practical implementation of agreements reached in Ankara in January of this year. They discussed advancing joint cooperation projects based on previously approved "roadmaps." The presidents also exchanged views on current international and regional agenda issues, touching upon the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.
