Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are expanding their aviation network. On May 15, Uzbekistan Airports hosted a meeting with representatives of Kyrgyzstan's Asman Airlines to discuss plans for launching regular flights.
The first stage will be the Tashkent–Tamchy (Issyk-Kul) route, tentatively scheduled to start on June 24, 2026. Flights will be operated using Dash 8-400 aircraft.
The airline plans to expand its route network: by autumn, the Tashkent–Osh flight is expected to launch, and by winter, Tashkent–Karakol. The possibility of opening Tashkent–Bishkek flights is also being considered.
Special attention was paid to regional transportation. Discussions included the prospect of international flights from Kyrgyzstan to Andijan, Fergana, and Namangan airports.
Asman Airlines is a state-owned carrier of Kyrgyzstan and a subsidiary of Kyrgyz Airports OJSC. It operates Dash 8 Q400 turboprop aircraft on domestic and international routes, including Almaty and Khujand.
Earlier, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed transport connectivity between the two countries. Among the priority projects is the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway.
