Starting May 20, three key border checkpoints in Kyrgyzstan's Batken region — Kadamjay, Chechme, and Ak-Kyya — have begun operating 24 hours a day. The decision was made ahead of the summer tourist season, when the flow of citizens traditionally increases.

Now the border between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan can be crossed at any time of day. The Kyrgyz State Border Service reported that the round-the-clock regime is being introduced for the convenience of citizens of both countries and to relieve checkpoints during summer travel.

It should be noted that only citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will be able to use the new schedule. For citizens of third countries, the crossing procedure remains the same — through international checkpoints.

The seasonal regime will be in effect until October 1, 2026. The Border Service urges citizens to plan their trips in advance and check the availability of necessary documents.

Earlier it was reported that direct flights would be launched between Tashkent and Issyk-Kul. The new flight is planned to open this summer, and in the future, the route network between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is expected to expand.
