Saule Bazarkhan (Saule Yermakhanova), a well-known Kazakh blogger and entrepreneur aged 53, has died during a planned liposuction procedure in Almaty.

According to relatives, the tragedy occurred on May 15, 2026, at the private Smart Beauty Clinic. She was admitted for liposuction under local anesthesia. Doctors reportedly said the procedure would take about 1-1.5 hours.

Bazarkhan's daughter stated that the family could not get accurate information about her condition for several hours after the surgery began. They were only informed of her death in the evening. Relatives claim the ambulance arrived late, and the woman was left unattended for about three hours.

The Almaty Police Department confirmed the death and opened a criminal case. A pre-investigation check is underway, and the clinic has also launched an internal inquiry.

Bazarkhan was known as a successful entrepreneur and blogger with thousands of followers. Her death has caused widespread resonance in Kazakhstan.

Smart Beauty Clinic confirmed the death but declined to comment further, citing medical confidentiality.
