The 60th plenary meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states took place in St. Petersburg. One of the main topics was the Year of Health Protection in the Commonwealth.

According to the press service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Chairperson Tanzila Narbaeva noted that the assembly has become an important platform for harmonizing legislation and parliamentary diplomacy. Uzbekistan is modernizing healthcare, introducing digital technologies and telemedicine. The republic's chairmanship of the CIS Council for Cooperation in Healthcare imposes additional responsibility.

The Uzbek delegation proposed developing model laws for cross-border medicine, strengthening drug quality control, and expanding cooperation in physician training.

During the spring session, a round table on deradicalization and social reintegration of individuals involved in terrorist organizations was also held. Participants discussed countering extremism and improving social adaptation mechanisms.

Meetings of permanent commissions on security, defense, and international cooperation also took place. The Youth Interparliamentary Assembly discussed the impact of artificial intelligence and "chess diplomacy." A separate conference on the use of AI and new technologies in combating terrorism was held.

The Uzbek delegation shared experience in democratic reforms and principles of open parliament. Special attention was paid to the 80th anniversary of Victory. International monitoring of elections in Kyrgyzstan and the referendum in Kazakhstan were also discussed. The CIS IPA established the honorary badge "For Merits in the Development of Science and Education" for young scientists. The autumn session of the assembly is to be held in Ashgabat.
