A hot air balloon crash in Khujand, Tajikistan, on the evening of June 1 left three people injured, including a citizen of Uzbekistan. The incident occurred during festivities marking International Children's Day.

The balloon, installed by local company Farovon near the Kamoli Khujandi Theater, broke loose due to weak moorings in a gust of wind. The uncontrolled aircraft was dragged through the air before crashing onto the roofs of residential buildings.

The most seriously injured was Rustam Saydaliev, a 46-year-old Uzbek citizen who was inside the balloon's basket when the tether snapped. He was urgently hospitalized at Khujand City Hospital No. 1.

Two local residents also sustained injuries: a 40-year-old woman was hit by the broken cable, and her 10-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries.

Footage of the uncontrolled descent circulated widely on social media, sparking public concern. The organizing company has begun cleanup and repair of damaged roofs.
