Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The National Statistics Committee has released birth rate data for 2025. On average, there are 23.2 newborns per thousand permanent residents nationwide. However, rates vary significantly by region.
The highest coefficients were recorded in Surkhandarya region – 27.5 and Kashkadarya region – 27.1. In Samarkand region, the birth rate was 24.5, in Jizzakh – 24.1, in Namangan – 23.9, and in Fergana – 23.5.
In Andijan region, the figure was 22.8, in Khorezm – 22.5, in Syrdarya – 22.4, in Navoi – 21.9. In Bukhara region, the birth rate was 20.9, and in Tashkent region – 20.5.
In the capital, the birth rate was below average – 19.8 per thousand residents. The lowest rate was recorded in Karakalpakstan – 19.2.
Earlier, the Statistics Agency compiled a demographic portrait of parenthood in Uzbekistan. The figures reflected age preferences for starting a family and changes in birth rate dynamics.
