An international conference dedicated to global trends in tourism and regional cooperation was held in the city of Samarkand. The event brought together over 200 experts from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and other countries.
During the conference, participants discussed modernization of tourism infrastructure, implementation of digital technologies, and ensuring environmental sustainability. Notably, the Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan announced that investment projects worth $1.5 billion are planned to be implemented in the country's tourism sector by 2025.
Following the conference, participants visited historical landmarks of Samarkand, including the Registan Square and the Shah-i-Zinda complex. Organizers emphasized that such meetings contribute to strengthening regional tourism ties.
