British police arrested a man after two people were stabbed in Golders Green, a north London area with a large Jewish population, on Wednesday. The incident has raised concerns amid a recent spike in antisemitic attacks.

The Jewish community security group Shomrim reported that the suspect was seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife, allegedly attempting to stab Jewish members of the public. Shomrim volunteers intervened, detained the suspect, and handed him over to police, who deployed a taser during the arrest.

Two people were wounded and are receiving treatment from volunteer medics. Their conditions have not been disclosed.

During Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons, PM Keir Starmer described the incident as 'deeply concerning'. He stated that he had been briefed before the session and urged full support for the police investigation, emphasizing the need to tackle such offenses, which he claimed have become too frequent.

The stabbing comes amid a series of alleged antisemitic crimes in the area in recent weeks, including an arson attempt at a synagogue and another targeting ambulances. No injuries were reported in those incidents, and several suspects have been arrested and charged.

The investigation is ongoing. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
