A bus driver on route No. 11 in Tashkent has been dismissed for rude treatment of passengers, according to Toshshahartransxizmat JSC.
A video circulating on social media shows the bus moving slowly. A passenger asked the driver to open the door and let them off, with others joining in. The driver shouted back: “You all got off, there was another empty one coming behind.”
When the passenger noted that the interval between buses on this route is very long, the driver replied: “Good, go complain; because of smart people like you, only seven of us are left.”
The incident was critically discussed with the participation of Toshshahartransxizmat management and the No. 18 bus depot. Deputy Chairman Komiljon Kadirov told the driver: “This is the capital’s public transport, with its own culture and rules of conduct. Instead of creating comfort for passengers, you created inconvenience and caused justified complaints.”
It was reported that driver S.Sh. started work on February 2 and was on a three-month probation period. His employment contract was terminated for violating passenger transport rules and rude behavior.
A company representative noted that the driver could have calmly explained the bus’s technical malfunction to passengers. To prevent such incidents in the future, special instructions will be provided to all drivers.
