US singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been accused of purchasing multiple tools online — including chainsaws and a shovel — after prosecutors allege he stabbed a 17-year-old girl to death. The new allegations were released as part of an extensive evidence filing in the case.
Prosecutors claim Burke had a lengthy sexual relationship with Celeste Rivas Hernandez, starting when she was 13 and he was 18. Text messages reportedly show she threatened to expose their illicit relationship and "destroy his life." The singer has pleaded not guilty.
The nine-page filing details the alleged motive and steps taken to cover his tracks before her dismembered body was found in the front trunk of his Tesla in September 2025. His attorneys tried to block the release, arguing it would affect his right to a fair trial, but Judge Charlaine Olmedo allowed it.
D4vd rose to fame on TikTok with viral hits Romantic Homicide and Here With Me. He was on tour when the body was discovered, leading to the cancellation of his worldwide tour. Los Angeles police arrested him earlier this month.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman filed seven criminal charges, including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and mutilation of remains. The teen was reported missing by her family in April 2025. A hearing is scheduled for May 15.
