Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The first surgery using a robotic system was performed at the branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics in the Samarkand region. The new technology was used for hip joint interventions on two patients.

The operations were carried out with the participation of Chinese specialists. A modern navigation complex delivered from China was used, allowing surgeons to perform interventions with high precision and minimal risk of complications.

According to the chief physician of the center, the introduction of robotic technologies became possible thanks to international cooperation and training of specialists abroad. He noted that doctors had previously undergone internships in China, where agreements were reached on implementing such solutions in Uzbekistan.

Foreign experts also emphasized that robotic surgery has been widely used worldwide for over a decade. The main advantages of the technology are high accuracy, an individualized approach to the patient, and a shorter recovery period compared to traditional methods.

Earlier, doctors at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Neurosurgery of Uzbekistan successfully operated on a six-month-old child suffering from severe epilepsy using a robot-assistant and navigation system.
