A charter flight from the United States landed at Tashkent International Airport on May 1, carrying 26 Uzbek citizens who were deported for violating US immigration laws.

The repatriation was organized in coordination between the competent authorities of both countries, who agreed on citizen identification, document processing, and transportation.

Uzbekistan continues to work with international partners on migration issues, including preventing violations and protecting the rights of its citizens abroad.

Earlier, as part of international Interpol operations, two citizens wanted for serious crimes were returned to Uzbekistan. One was extradited from Bahrain, the other deported from the US.
