Tashkent, Uzbekistan – An owl that was being walked on a leash by a teenager in the Yunusabad district has been rescued and handed over to specialists at the Tashkent Zoo.

The incident occurred in the “Ahmad Donish” mahalla, where the teenager was seen parading a young eagle owl tied to a rope. When questioned by adults about the rare bird, which is listed in the Red Book, the boy reacted aggressively.

The bird was later found on the ground, still tied up. A concerned resident alerted the authorities. The next day, the teenager was taken to the police department for investigation.

Environmental inspectors confiscated the owl and transferred it to the Tashkent Zoo, where it is now under professional care. The teenager’s parents are expected to face legal consequences for the incident.
