A scandal has erupted in Angren over the city's animal control service. A group of employees has been accused of killing and slaughtering a dog on the premises of the institution. Law enforcement agencies are currently handling the case.

The killing of the animal was documented by activists, who promptly provided photo and video evidence to the authorities. Police officers and representatives of sanitary services arrived at the scene to conduct investigative measures. According to the initial version from animal rights activists, the animal may have been prepared for resale, but the statements of the detainees themselves added unexpected details to the case.

The situation has been taken under personal control by deputy and founder of the "Hayot" shelter, Iroda Matkarimova. She stated that one of the incident participants is attempting to justify his actions by citing health conditions.

"This person claims to have AIDS and follows a certain 'therapeutic diet' for which he allegedly slaughtered the dog. According to his admission, he consumes such meat once every six months," Matkarimova told a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The animal protection community insists on a strict legal assessment of these actions. This involves not only cruelty to animals but also a potential inspection of the entire animal control service in the region for compliance with legislative and sanitary norms.

At present, a court hearing is awaited, with results to be announced later.
