Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. An assistant prosecutor in Tashkent's Uchtepa district has become a suspect in a fraud case. The official was detained by State Security Service (SGB) officers after accepting a bribe of $15,000 and attempted to flee the scene.
According to the investigation, the suspect, who previously worked in Shaykhantakhur district, promised a local businessman assistance in renting non-residential premises. In exchange for help in securing two basements for commercial activity, he demanded $15,000.
The money transfer took place in the civil servant's personal car. When SGB officers intervened, the suspect tried to speed away from the meeting point, but his vehicle was quickly blocked. The funds obtained during the transaction were seized as material evidence.
Based on the collected materials, the Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case under Part 3, Clause "c" of Article 168 ("Fraud committed by a person using their official position"). A pre-trial detention measure has been imposed.
