In Surkhandarya region, law enforcement agencies detained a young woman suspected of extortion. She blackmailed an acquaintance with whom she had a previous romantic relationship, threatening to release intimate videos and demanding a large sum of money.

According to the regional police press service, a 34-year-old man reported to authorities that his 23-year-old former acquaintance had secretly recorded intimate videos during their relationship. After their breakup, the woman began demanding money, threatening to publish the materials.

The complainant stated that he initially paid her 7 million soums, then another 5 million. The total payments reached approximately 40 million soums. Later, the suspect demanded an additional 15 million.

During the handover of money, which had been pre-treated with a special substance, the woman was caught red-handed by law enforcement officers.

A criminal case has been initiated against her under Part 1 of Article 165 (“Extortion”).

This is not the first case of blackmail by a woman. Previously, in Andijan, a woman blackmailed a man by threatening to release intimate videos. Earlier, a resident of Bukhara blackmailed a man, demanding $30,000 for not disclosing intimate information.
