In December 2025, legal representatives of five victims affected by Dok-1 Maks and Ambronol syrups (three disabled, two deceased) filed a lawsuit seeking moral damages from Indian manufacturer Marion Biotech and its Uzbek supplier Quramax Medical LLC. The Interdistrict Court of Yakkasaray District in Tashkent ruled in favor of the plaintiffs on February 2, 2026.
The court decision mandates that moral damages of 1 billion Uzbek soums per victim be recovered solidarily from both companies. This amount is in addition to 1 billion soums previously awarded under criminal verdicts, which has not been fully paid.
Court assistant Asilbek Davlatov stated the ruling will take effect on March 3, 2026, and will be enforced if no appeals are filed. Recovery from Marion Biotech, registered in India, will proceed under international legal norms.
