Customs officers at the specialized "Tashkent-Aero" complex in the capital's airport thwarted an attempt to import synthetic drugs concealed as sports nutrition. A citizen of a neighboring state, arriving on a flight from Bishkek, attempted to pass through the "green" corridor without declaration.

During a baggage inspection, customs officials discovered two boxes of sports nutrition containing 684 capsules. Expert analysis revealed that the capsules contained the synthetic drug "alpha-PVP," with a total weight of 560.75 grams.

A criminal case has been initiated by customs authorities regarding this incident. This seizure is part of ongoing operations to combat drug smuggling in the country.

Previously, the State Security Service, in cooperation with border troops, customs authorities, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, conducted large-scale special operations in the Syrdarya and Surkhandarya regions. During these operational measures, a total of 77 kilograms of heavy narcotic substances, smuggled from neighboring Tajikistan, were removed from illegal circulation.
