Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. The pawnshop market in Uzbekistan is experiencing rapid growth: total assets of organizations have increased by nearly 42%, approaching the 800 billion soum mark.

According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, as of April 1, 2026, pawnshop assets stood at 784.7 billion soums, compared to 551.4 billion soums in the same period last year. Lending remains the key activity: the volume of loans issued rose from 451.5 billion to 663.6 billion soums, confirming sustained public demand for short-term financing.

The sector's financial stability is also strengthening. Total capital increased by 36% – from 459.8 billion to 625.5 billion soums. The growth in authorized capital indicates that pawnshops are expanding their market presence not only through borrowed funds but also through their own resources.

At the same time, liabilities increased significantly – from 91.6 billion to 159.2 billion soums, a 74% rise. The bulk of these are loans and borrowings used to support operational activities.

Additionally, pawnshops are now allowed to offer Islamic financial services. A minimum capital adequacy ratio of 10% has been set for them.
